Physician Primary Care
An immediate fill for full-time Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physicians to serve at the VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) located in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Physicians report directly to the Chief Medical Officer, at the Knoxville Outpatient Clinic. The Physicians are charged with providing outpatient-only primary care for eligible Veterans in the area. The required skill set includes current Primary Care clinical proficiency, willingness and ability to encourage teamwork, implement new initiatives and maintain high standards of performance. A broad working knowledge of and experience with VA policies and procedures is desirable, but not mandatory. VA Primary Care Providers are responsible for coordinating all aspects of the patients' care, making referrals to specialists, ordering procedures, ordering and monitoring all medications plus handling all their patients' acute needs.
Work Schedule: Generally administrative, 7:45 to 4:30, Monday thru Friday (some clinic hours may be extended as needed)
