The Albany, NY Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center is recruiting for a full-time Emergency Medicine physician. Join a dynamic team of 6 physicians plus an interdisciplinary team to provide quality emergency medicine care to our Nation's Heroes---our Veteran patients! Emergency Department volume is approximately 13,000 patients per year with no trauma, peds, or OB and very little GYN. Approx 40 patients are seen each day with 6-8 admissions. Less volume than the private market, but most patients are high complexity. Schedule is 10-12 hour shifts, covering either the day or night. A fast track operates in parallel 10 hours, Mon-Fri. You will also supervise Mid-Level Providers (PA/NP) who offer additional Department coverage. Mature electronic medical record used.
I invite you to consider the Veterans Health Administration as your next practice of choice. Your current license allows you to practice at any Veterans Affairs facility.
Prefer candidates with EM Board certification or FP/IM boards with extensive EM experience.
