The Tuscaloosa, AL VA Medical Center is searching for a BE/BC Family Practice/Internal Medicine Physician to join their dynamic healthcare team. Responsible for providing overall quality of medical care and treatment to the Veteran population as assigned through Primary Care Clinic. A physician who maximizes the efficient use of available resources to treat the assigned population.
Provides overall guidance to and collaboration with Advance Practice Nurses approved to prescribe limited controlled substance in conjunction with Full Practice Authority. Performs physicals, examinations, and interviews and orders appropriate diagnostic studies to make appropriate diagnoses.
Participates as a member of various Medical Center committees. Participates in performance improvement initiatives and educational activities to stay current with community standards in the development and enhancement of skills and abilities.
Salary Range: $180,000 - $205,000 per year

Selected candidate may be eligible for student loan reimbursement thru the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). Participation is based on funds availability.
Citizenship Requirement: Must be a U.S. citizen. Non-citizens can be considered if no qualified citizen can be found.
Licensure: Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
Physical Standards: Must meet physical standards established for this position
English Language Proficiency: Proficiency in written and spoken English. Physicians, including residents, appointed to direct patient-care positions must be proficient in spoken and written English
Education Requirements: Degree of doctor of medicine or equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. All education claimed by the applicant will be verified.
