The Kansas City, MO VA Medical Center in Kansas City, MO is actively seeking a BE/BC Psychiatrists for Staff Outpatient Psychiatry and Chief of Inpatient Psychiatry opportunities.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE:

  • Outpatient psychiatrist: This position is responsible for conducting assessments for psychiatric, substance abuse, alcohol abuse, social and any associated medical problems in the tele-psychiatry and outpatient clinical settings. The selected physicians will also use appropriate treatment modalities including psychotropic medications, individual therapy, and group therapy. Outpatient duties in general mental health clinic include seeing patients for initial and follow-up mental health assessments and medication management; care is delivered in a team-based model. Possibility for Research and faculty appointment at the University of Kansas School of Medicine
  • Chief of Inpatient Psychiatry: You will conduct assessments for psychiatric, substance abuse, alcohol abuse, social and any associated medical problems in the residential and outpatient clinical setting. You will use appropriate treatment modalities including psychotropic medications, individual therapy, and group therapy. Treatment is designed to provide the full-range of clinically indicated treatment and rehabilitation services for patients with SUD, including ambulatory withdrawal management; treatment of the psychological and behavioral aspects of addiction with evidence-based addiction-focused pharmacotherapy and psychosocial interventions. This position is responsible for conducting assessments for psychiatric, substance abuse, alcohol abuse, social and any associated medical problems in the residential and outpatient clinical setting.
