Emergency Medicine Physician needed to care for our Veterans - Great Benefits!


The WJB Dorn VA Medical Center located in Columbia, SC is seeking a full-time physician for our Emergency Department. In addition to the excellent benefits of federal government employment, we offer flexible work schedules of 40 hours per week, or 80 hours per two-week pay period. Physicians perform clinical duties in the 10 bed ED which operates 24/7 for the 17,500 patients seen annually.

There is an associated urgent care staffed by one (1) physician and three (3) Nurse Practitioners that sees approximately 13,500 additional patients. The physician must maintain proficiency in critical care skills, including central line placement and intubations. Most cases are medical and very little trauma. Current ACLS is required.

 
Tour Of Duty: Rotational 12 hour shifts to include weekends and holidays
 
Required Experience: Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
 
Salary Range: Up to $348,000 per year Salary will be determined by a compensation panel based on experience and background.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:  
 
Citizenship: Citizen of the United States. 

Licensure and Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia. 

Education: Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. APPLICANTS PLEASE NOTE: Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications. Applicants must, therefore, only report attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
