The successful candidate will provide a variety of therapeutic and diagnostic GI procedures for both inpatients and outpatients. Candidates must be eligible for an academic position in the Department of Internal Medicine affiliated with the University of Nevada School of Medicine. Candidate must be board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology. As the gastroenterologist, you are recognized as a source of knowledge with clinical expertise in a specialized area of medicine and will share this knowledge and expertise with professional and supportive staff through in-services and educational activities. Your advanced clinical experience will show demonstrated skills in providing clinical interface with academic affiliates and other stakeholders, demonstrated commitment to an interdisciplinary approach to patient care delivery, and, demonstrated ability to work well within a group of clinical providers.

A current, unrestricted license from any US state allows you to practice in any VHA facility, anywhere.

Citizenship: Citizen of the United States (Noncitizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens)
Licensure and Registration: Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. The physician must maintain current registration in the State of licensure if this is a requirement for continuing active, current licensure.
English Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d)
Physical Standards: Applicants must meet physical standards for the position. A physical examination prior to placement is required. This is a designated drug testing position. After appointment, you will be subject to random testing for illegal drug use.
You will need to successfully complete a background security investigation before you can be appointed into this position.
