Mercy Care has an exciting full or part time employment opportunity for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatry physician to join an exceptional team providing care for the underserved population in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Psychiatry physician provides diagnosis, psychiatric treatment and consultations within an integrated care setting. This physician will also provide administrative oversight as needed and supports APRNs through collaborative agreements.
The selected provider will share back up on-call coverage duties and will participate in health fairs or community events on weekends as requested 3 - 4 times a year. The option to work with the Street Medicine team is available, if desired.
Requirements for this opportunity include graduation from a ACGME certified Psychiatry residency program and Board Certification or Board Eligibility. Licensure to practice medicine within the state of Georgia is required, as well as at least one year of serving vulnerable populations.
The selected provider will have familiarity and experience in treating medically underserved populations and patients of diverse backgrounds. They will also have experience working with patients who have both mental illness and substance abuse/dependence within a multi-disciplinary setting. The selected candidate will also possess a clinical expertise and competence in providing direct services and medical consultation and be able to build strong, cohesive, outcomes focused working relationships with special needs populations and the integrated team colleagues.
Preference will be shown to candidates with experience treating both children and adults.
