The Molecular Pathology Section within the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Institute at the Cleveland Clinic (Cleveland, OH) is seeking a full-time molecular pathologist to join our Medical Staff.

The Section supports the testing needs of the Cleveland Clinic Health System and Cleveland Clinic Laboratories, our regional and national reference laboratory. The Section consists of Cytogenomics and Molecular Diagnostics and offers testing in cytogenetics, FISH, array-based testing, and conventional and next generation sequencing.  Responsibilities are based on a “Patients First” attitude with an emphasis on professional interpretive services and close interaction with clinical colleagues. The Section is home to a Molecular Genetic Pathology Fellowship Program.

Notably, the Section is initiating a major growth program and will be adding many new cutting-edge applications and collaborations in 2017 and beyond. This recruitment is part of that growth and will support the increasing test volume and associated patient care and caregiver interaction.

Successful candidates will become part of a Molecular Pathology team dedicated to overall efficient organization of the laboratory which includes, but is not limited to, test menu expansion, mentoring of medical technologists, laboratory resources management and stewardship, quality assurance, continuous quality improvement, regulatory compliance, efficient communication with clinical and administrative colleagues, teaching of residents and fellows, results interpretation and test sign-out, and more.

Applicants should have a sterling reputation for diagnostic expertise and scholarly accomplishments in an area of Molecular Genetic Pathology and/or Genomics. Prior administrative experience is a plus. Applicants should hold an MD or an MD/PhD degree, be certified by the American Board of Pathology in Molecular Genetic Pathology and be eligible for appropriate and unrestricted medical licensure. Certification by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics is a plus. A faculty appointment in the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University is available, if desired.
