Lutheran Children’s Hospital (LCH) is the first comprehensive children’s hospital in Fort Wayne. Since opening in 1999, LCH has created a dedicated “children’s hospital within a hospital” concept with recent facility investment of $10M and upcoming NICU renovation of $4M. LCH is a tertiary care facility, with neonatal, maternal/fetal and pediatric transport programs that includes Lutheran Air and dedicated LCH Mobile Intensive Care Units, as well as a verified Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.
Level III Pediatric/PICU and NICU/OB care are currently focused at LCH (south) but sister-facilities including Dupont Hospital (north) and St. Joseph hospital (downtown) are developing coordinated, network systems of care for mother/baby and pediatrics that will result in more robust pediatric and perinatal programs of excellence and elevate the overall level of pediatric medicine in Northeast Indiana.
