The Hampton Virginia VA Medical Center is seeking BC/BE Psychiatrists. The ideal candidate is an independent care provider who is highly skilled in the management of patient's mental health needs. Main responsibilities are medication management, psychiatric discharges and teaching of residents. The psychiatrist can expect to see between 12-15 follow-up patients, and 1 to 2 intake patients per day. Call is minimum and consists of 14-21 days per year. Academic affiliations are maintained with Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. More than 200 medical residents receive part of their training at this facility every year. U.S. Citizenship, a full, active, and unrestricted U.S. medical license, and BC/BE in Psychiatry are required.
