Mercy Care has an exciting full time employment opportunity for a Primary Care or subspecialty trained physician to lead an exceptional team providing care for the underserved population in the Metro Atlanta, Georgia area.
The Chief Medical Officer will have leadership responsibilities for the primary care, infectious disease, psychiatry, quality improvement and pharmacy programs. The selected candidate will run the Ambulatory clinics and oversee the clinical providers (physicians, dentist, psychiatrists and APP's) in this opportunity that is approximately 80% Administrative and 20% Clinical. This opportunity also has a significant role in developing and implementing strategies associated with population health, care coordination and other best practices in partnership with other health care and community providers. The Chief Medical Officer's duties will include internal administrative and clinical care responsibilities along with leadership in the coordination of strategic external community relationships.
Mercy Care is a Federally Qualified Health Center with thirty years of serving the Atlanta community. Mercy Care is recognized by the National Center of Quality Assurance as a level 3 Patient Centered Medical home for primary care. The primary care program enjoys the support of an integrated behavioral health model which provides resources and treatment for behavioral health needs. Other general services include primary dentistry, vision, case management, extensive preventative services and limited diagnostic services. Mercy Care also has comprehensive infectious disease programs and wrap around services which include traditional primary care and dental for HIV patients, dedicated behavioral health support, patient prescription drug assistance, HIV outreach/testing and education resources.
Mercy Care is well funded including grants through HRSA, Ryan White Part A, Ryan White Part C, CDC, and SAMSHA. The Chief Medical Director will be supported by a seasoned and dedicated staff in fulfilling the mission of providing excellent care to those served. This position will be eligible for privileging at Grady Health System and most likely an academic affiliation.
Current physician leaders (and those desiring leadership roles) with public health and FQHC experience who possess training in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine are encouraged to consider this exciting opportunity to lead the clinical programs of Mercy Care.
