Position Information

The VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS) in Las Vegas NV is recruiting for BC/BE Family Medicine and Internal Medicine Physicians to fill Staff, Clinical-Based Hybrid Tele-Health and Supervisory Primary Care Physician (PCP) positions for position in Las Vegas and Surrounding Communities. In addition to our main VA Medical Center in North Las Vegas, we offer services at four Primary Care Clinics in the Las Vegas Metropolitan area and at two rural community-based outpatient clinics located in Pahrump NV and Laughlin NV. 

The Supervising Physician will be assigned at the Laughlin Primary Care Clinic, Laughlin Nevada, and is a leadership position that is responsible for all aspects of primary care delivery and supervision of staff. In conjunction with the Chief of Primary Care and the Assistant Chief of Primary Care, the Supervisor will be responsible for planning, organizing, developing, implementing, controlling and refining a comprehensive patient management/clinical support program. The PCP Supervisor should be a forward-thinking physician who embraces Primary Care delivered via a Care Team (PACT/PCMH) model with the ability to manage both local and rural operations maximizing use of virtual technology. The ideal PCP Supervisory candidate will possess the following characteristics and attributes:  Strong administrative, clinical and leadership experience and skills; Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; Embraces and initiates new treatment programs and technologies; Effective management and operations experience; Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine; Experience in physician recruitment and retention.

The Staff Primary Care Physician (PCP) selected Physician, who is BC/BE in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, will be responsible for providing primary care for patients through General Outpatient Clinic Care and Hybrid Tele-Health System. The selected physician provides appropriate care for Veterans ranging in age from 18 through geriatric years, taking into consideration diagnosis and physical, functional, psychosocial, spiritual and cultural needs. The Physician serves as a provider who is highly skilled in the management of a patient's primary care needs and evaluation of need for subspecialty referral. The Physician is responsible to contribute to the achievements of quality of care standards, efficiency, process improvement, and patient satisfaction. The Physician will serve as a resource for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants who are also delivering primary care and responds to all staff in the primary care teams regarding patient concerns. Location: Assignment availability and interests will be discussed during interview, and may include assignments to one of our four Primary Care Clinics in the Las Vegas Valley, or at the Medical Center Primary Care Clinic, or Rural Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) in Pahrump and Laughlin NV, based on available openings and physician's interests. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Some weekend and holiday tours may be required to ensure patient care, and will discussed during interview. Full-Time, Part-Time, Compressed Schedules will be considered, based on Physician's interests.  Clinic-based hybrid Tele-Health position available for our Laughlin Clinic.

  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S.
  • Residency Training Leading to Board Certification / Board Eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine

Benefits and Features

Expected Salary range for well qualified BC/BE Familyi Medicine / Internal Medicine, Primary Care Physicians, will range from $180,000.00 to $225,000.00 with possibility of Recruitment/Relocation Incentive for highly qualified candidate.  The VA supports a healthy work-life-family balance by providing Staff with a robust benefits package and fosters an environment where more time is spent on medical practice and less on business tasks.
