Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) and Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center – Boise have an opportunity for an Occupational Medicine physician to lead a clinic based Occupational Medicine practice located in the Boise, Idaho metro area with outreach clinics to Nampa, Caldwell and Fruitland.

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led 450+ provider multispecialty group with an excellent Clinical Occupational Medicine opportunity for a physician committed to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care. Based in a newly built, state-of-the-art 13,000 square foot facility, responsibilities include management of the occupational medicine patient in collaboration with the patient’s employer and/or surety, to provide:

  • Injury assessment and treatment
  • Physical exams (DOT, HazMat, Pre-Employment, Respirator)
  • Hearing, vision & blood pressure screenings
  • Lab services, x-ray, drug screen and breath alcohol collection
  • Pulmonary function testing
  • Chemical exposure services
  • Worksite safety consultations
  • Aggressive return-to-work programs

The Medical Director will guide staff, utilizing approved guidelines and standards of care in further developing OEM programs. They must maintain working relationships with local industries in order to ensure their needs are met. Support for the Medical Director include an experienced staff of four APPs and two Physicians who understand workers compensation policies and procedures; on-site family medicine and urgent care as well as access to the Saint Alphonsus network of primary care and specialty services.

The schedule for this opportunity is Monday through Friday, with no fewer than 34 hours of scheduled patient contact time. The clinics are closed weekends and holidays and there is no call associated with this opportunity.

Requirements for this opportunity include a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree, Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Occupational Medicine. The selected Medical Director must obtain Idaho medical licensure to practice medicine in all its phases as well as valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Board of Pharmacy and DEA.

Preference will be shown to candidates who possess Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Board Certification and/ or Medical Review Officer (MRO) certification. However, Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine trained physicians will also be considered. Experience as a Medical Director is preferred but not required.

The qualified candidate will exude passion about Occupational Medicine health issues and demonstrate evidence of comprehensive assessment skills, expert clinical skills and problem solving abilities. The candidate should also have knowledge of OSHA and health and safety regulations and will be on the FMCSA Registry.
