Seeking IM Physician for Primary Care Position with Spinal Cord Injury Center in Long Beach CA


Position Information


The VA Long Beach Healthcare System, Ernest Bors Spinal Cord Injury Center, in Long Beach CA, is recruiting to fill a Primary Care Physician, and will consider BC/BE Internal Medicine, Physiatry or Spinal Cord Injury Physicians, to provide both inpatient and outpatient primary care to spinal cord injured patients. Spinal Cord Injury experience is desirable but is not required for consideration.  The SCI Center is a CARF accredited, university affiliated state of the art 90 bed facility that proudly provides comprehensive medical, rehabilitation, and primary care for spinal cord injured veterans throughout the continuum of their lives. Each Veteran is at the center of his/her own medical home or PACT (Patient Aligned Care Team), comprised of the primary care physician, psychologist, social worker, nurse, and clerk.  The PACT team provides care to the Veteran whether she/he is an inpatient or outpatient. The VALBHS is a tertiary care facility classified as a Clinical Referral Level 1B Facility and is one of the most diversified tertiary health care providers in the VA. It is a teaching hospital, providing a full range of patient care services, with state-of-the-art technology as well as education and research. Comprehensive health care is provided through primary care, tertiary care, and long-term care in areas of medicine, surgery, psychiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology, oncology, dentistry, spinal cord injury, geriatrics, blind rehabilitation and extended care. 

  • Must be US Citizens
  • Must have current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S.
  • BC/BE in Internal Medicine, Physiatry or Spinal Cord Injury (SCI experience not required)

Expected Salary range for well qualified Candidate will range from $190,000.00 to $210,000.00 and includes industry leading full benefits and features package to support high quality professional practice and favorable work-life-family balance.
