Mercy Care has an exciting full time employment opportunity for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatry physician to lead an exceptional team providing care for the underserved population in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Director of Psychiatry is responsible for the supervision of Psychiatric service providers within the outpatient clinics and innovative programs of Mercy Care. The director will assist with program and grant implementation as well as oversight within the Behavioral Health Department. They will provide education and psychiatric consult liaison access to providers and specialists within Mercy Care through the Integrated Behavioral Health approach. Additional responsibilities include providing select direct services to patients seeking psychiatric care. The Director of Psychiatry is a member of the management team for Behavioral Health and Social Services as well as a member of organizational provider leadership committees.

The selected candidate will possess at least two years of supervisory experience and at least three years' experience working in behavioral health. The Director must have experience treating patients with both mental illness and substance abuse/ dependence diagnosis' as well as experience working in a multi-disciplinary setting. Preference will be shown to candidates who have already achieved Board Certification. Current Georgia Driver's License may also be required.
The Director must be able to build engaging, cohesive, outcomes-focused working relationships with patients and colleagues. They must be able to make decisions both independently and within interdisciplinary health, organizational and social services teams. The candidate will possess organizational management and leadership skills, demonstrated abilities to work with data and project management. They will stay abreast of current practice and will contribute to innovative approaches and programs to support quality care and must be able to maintain appropriate professional and personal boundaries and a positive, healthy role model for patients and colleagues.
