Seeking Board Certified Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician Leader for Position of Section Chief of Primary Care Service for Excellent Opportunity in Redlands CA


Position Information

The VA Loma Linda Healthcare System, in Loma Linda CA, is recruiting to fill two Section Chief of Primary Care, who are Board Certified (BE Considered) in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, to provide leadership, direction and day-to-day supervisor of assigned cadre of assigned primary care provider direct reports. The Section Chief, in conjunction with the ACOS Ambulatory Care Center (ACC), will be responsible for planning, organizing, developing, implementing, controlling, and refining a comprehensive patient management, clinical support, and administrative program. Broad clinical and administrative expertise is required to meet the needs of the patient population, to integrate primary functions into the care delivery of the Loma Linda ACC, and coordinate Veteran care with other VA and non-VA entities within and outside Facility. A faculty appointment at the Loma Linda University, School of Medicine may be available. Prior or current Clinical Supervisory, Management and Leadership experience in similar primary care setting highly desirable.

The new 340,000 square foot, 500-employee Ambulatory Care Center in nearby Redlands CA features 215 exam rooms, 17 procedure rooms, and 2,000 parking spaces, and can accommodate 50 percent of all outpatient care visits to the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System. Services include primary care, women’s health, prosthetics, outpatient physical medicine and rehabilitation, imaging, mental health, and dental health. The four clinics are arranged in a pinwheel configuration around a central public zone, creating a gathering space at the heart of the building. Materials and colors create a unique character for each building and help lend a smaller-scale experience for patients, families, and staff. The clinic is oriented to take advantage of daylight, and features skylights and full-height windows at key circulation and waiting areas. Benefits and Features

Expected Salary range for well qualified Board Certified Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician will range from $210,000.00 to $262,000.00 with possibility of being considered for a Recruitment and/or Relocation Incentive and additional opportunity to apply for Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), which may offer up to $120,000.00 for eligible education loan repayment.
