St. Peter's Health Partners Medical Associates, P.C. and St. Peter's Health Partners have excellent full time employment opportunities for Nurse Practitioners and/or Physician Assistants to join Inpatient Critical Care teams within the systems Intensive Care Units located in Albany and Troy, New York.

This practice is a highly regarded group of 15+ physicians and advanced practitioners who are looking to hire providers for full time night shift only opportunities available within both open and closed critical care units. The group practices in the system hospitals, including the newly opened state-of-the-art, 24 bed, ICU at Samaritan Hospital in Troy and the recently remodeled 19 bed unit at St. Peter’s Hospital. Flexible scheduling will be available for these night roles.

The onsite critical care advanced practice provider will be a part of the tele-ICU program, which entails working with both tele-intensivists and onsite physicians. The roles will complete new patient consults and/or Emergency Room admissions, present information to and collaborate with the tele-intensivist, create consult notes (or admission notes) after discussion with the tele-intensivist, and will occasionally be asked to assist in managing emergencies in the critical care units with the aid of onsite physicians. Central venous catheter placement may also be required.

Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants interested in these opportunities must possess appropriate New York State licensure, NP/PA certification, DEA, ACLS and BLS certifications and must have demonstrated competency in the insertion of central venous catheters. All candidates must also have with the availability to work weekends and nights.

Preference will be shown to experienced candidates who possess previous experience in a critical care setting, however candidates who have recently completed training will also be considered. An excellent six month training program, in conjunction with the Hospitalist program, is available for recent graduates.
