The Pediatric Palliative Care Team at Cleveland Clinic Children’s is looking to add a full-time board-certified/board eligible pediatric physician to its team. Our team is comprised of a physician, 2 nurse practitioners, and a nurse coordinator. The team works with the interdisciplinary teams among Cleveland Clinic Children’s and Cleveland Clinic, including Child Life, Social Work, Care Management, Behavioral Medicine, Spiritual Care, and Healing Services.
The Pediatric Palliative Care team has integrated well within Cleveland Clinic Children’s, and provides consults for inpatient children, including those in cardiac and pediatric intensive care units, neonatal intensive care unit, hematology-oncology floor, and transitional care unit. The outpatient visits will take place in our new, state of the art Cleveland Clinic Children’s Outpatient building, focusing on multi-disciplinary clinics and hematology-oncology. Additionally, the team meets with families for prenatal visits with our Fetal Care Center.
Responsibilities of the physician, include providing inpatient pediatric palliative care service consultations and care for outpatients, as well as participating in fetal care visits. There are opportunities for teaching with fellows, residents, and medical students, as well as research initiatives. There is also a possibility for directing the Pediatric Palliative Care program.
