Cleveland Clinic has a clinical staff opening for a Diagnostic Medical Physicist. Candidates must be American Board of Radiology Certified in Diagnostic Radiologic Physics. The qualified candidate must have a minimum of a M.S. degree or equivalent in Medical Physics, Physics or a related discipline and have at least 3 years-experience.
The emphasis of this position is clinical medical imaging, including evaluation, integration, quality assurance, safe use of imaging equipment and may include clinical research related to radiation dose optimization and image quality improvement. Knowledge, familiarity and experience with diagnostic imaging instrumentation, particularly equipment used in general radiography and fluoroscopy. Familiarity with radiation measurement instrumentation, electronic test equipment, radiation monitors, and dosimetry equipment (including ionization chambers and luminescent dosimeters) is expected, as well as experience with medical imaging workstations, radioactive material license applications and amendments. Experience in the development and oversight of hospital based Imaging Department Quality Assurance Programs is preferred. Up to 25% overnight travel may be required.
