The Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Staff Physician. The incumbent will provide?health care for adults in the primary care clinic commensurate with training and in accordance with the general policies and standards of practice.
Job Functions:
- Delivers care appropriate for a primary care clinic with a multicultural adult patient population.
- May be engaged in scholarly activities and institutional service are also essential parts of the position, including clinical research, teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows; participation in quality improvement and systems compliance initiatives; and Division, Departmental, Medical School and University-wide service.
- May maintain outpatient clinical practice at any of our UHealth ambulatory locations.
- 9 half-day sessions per week.
- May be involved in clinical/educational activities at Jackson Memorial Hospital including inpatient wards, medical consultation service and the ambulatory resident clinic.
Qualifications:
- MD Degree and ACGME US internal medicine internship and residency
- Valid American Board Certification in Internal Medicine (or board eligible)
- Valid unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligible to apply (must have license prior to credentialing)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques.
- Must maintain CME to meet institutional and state licensing requirements
- Must have excellent clinical knowledge and experience to provide safe and quality care to patients and meet institutional standards of care
- Current BLS certification required. ACLS (if applicable).
- Valid DEA licensure
