Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the VP of Physician Services, the Family Practitioner will treat a wide range of medical conditions, develop long-term, personal relationships with their patients, produce individualized healthcare programs based on patient historical data and offer continuous support and health management advice. The Family Practitioner will be proactive in building relationships and recommend external specialists when patients require treatment outside of their medical purview. The Family Practitioner is responsible for completing all duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Education:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution is required.
- Successful completion of a residency and fellowship program is required.
Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in the Family Medicine Practice is required.
- Required Licensure/Certification(s):
- New Mexico State Medical License required.
- Board Certification (or board eligible) required.
- Current ACLS, BLS and PALS Certifications are required.
Essential Job Competencies and Standards of Performance:
- Diagnose and treat illnesses, medical conditions, and injuries.
- Conduct research and remain up to date on current trends, discoveries, and developments in the
field. - Prescribe and administer antibiotics, antiseptics, compresses, and/or other medications to patients.
- Direct nurses, residents and other staff members.
- Perform appropriate history and physical exams.
- Accurately diagnose patient and select appropriate treatment.
- Documents encounter completely, concisely, and on day of visit.
- Appropriately incorporates MAs, RNs, and other support staff into the medical care team.
- Evaluate the psychosocial and safety needs of the patient and /or family members.
- Ability to work without direct supervision and practice autonomously
- Ability to consistently present a friendly, welcoming, and professional public-facing appearance
- Maintains all required licenses and certifications. Submits updated verifications to Human Resources
