Medical Oncologist in Gynecologic Oncology

Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking Medical Oncologist at the Assistant/Associate/Senior level to join the Department of Gynecologic Oncology.

Our GYNONC program is complete academic practice in terms of research, teaching, and clinical care; and we are part of the only NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center in the state. We are involved in translational research and all phases of clinical trials. This includes investigator-initiated studies; for example, in ovarian cancer we have a first-in-human CART study in recurrent disease and a frontline DOD ovarian cancer treatment study to evaluate biomarkers of the immune environment. We also have a full spectrum of studies in all GYNONC disease sites to include cell therapies and novel therapeutics. We participate in the Gynecologic Oncology Group. We have all levels of graduate medical education including premedical and medical students, residents, gynecologic oncology and medical oncology fellows, and advance practice professional students.

This role engages in clinical or translational research in conjunction with delivery of clinical services. This position will demonstrate creative activity, including discovery of new knowledge and/or development of new educational techniques. Protected time available for those that demonstrate capacity to perform clinical or translational research.

This position will report to the Department Chair. Collaborative research between clinicians as well as basic and population scientists is part of the culture. The position involves all aspects of patient care, including the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients. We have an interdisciplinary approach to optimize patient care delivery and the position includes participating in tumor boards, molecular genetics conferences, and other educational activities.

Successful candidates must have a medical degree or foreign equivalent, plus completion of residency training program in Internal Medicine and fellowship training program in Hematology/Oncology, Board eligible or Board certified in Hematology/Oncology, Florida medical license or ability to get one, and qualified to obtain hospital privileges.

Candidate practices medicine, hematology and medical oncology within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center. Position provides patient care under the auspices of Moffitt Medical Group and serves as member of the academic medical enterprise: advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer. The position may span the clinical and research enterprise, and supports patient care, research, and education. Successful candidate will have direct supervision of Advance Practice Professionals and academic trainees.

Academic ambulatory practice at the Moffitt main and local satellite facilities, and inpatient consulting service at Moffitt and flexibility to consult at other locations within the Tampa Bay Area if needed.
