The Cardiac Physician Assistant functions to support the practice of the attending surgeons in the management of the Pre-Operative and Post-Operative patient in all areas of Cardiovascular Care including but not limited to the CVICU, Cardiac Surgery step down unit and cardiovascular clinic. The scope of practice will comply with all state, federal and local laws. Their practice will also be subject to the regulations and bylaws of the hospital and medical staff specifically, as delineated in the Board of Medical Examiners of NY.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Seven years' experience in the management of the Post-operative Cardiac patient and or assisting the surgeons in the operating room.
  • Certification by the National Commission for Certified Physician's Assistants (NCCPA) within one year of initial employment by the Medical Center.
  • Registered and licensed by the New York Board of Medical Examiners.
  • BCLS, ACLS- within first two years of employment.


EDUCATION:
Graduated from an accredited PA program.
