The Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare Systems (CAVHS) is seeking a full time Physician (Rheumatologist) Position. The Rheumatologist will diagnose and manage rheumatologic illnesses including but not limited to metabolic diseases of the bone, osteoporosis, polymyositis, rheumatoid arthritis, crystal-induced arthropathies, scleroderma/systemic sclerosis, vasculitis. The Rheumatologist will perform and/or interpret boing and joint imaging, synovial fluid aspiration, and joint injections. The Rheumatologist will address Rheumatology inpatient and outpatient consults and performing electronic chart reviews and provide e-consultations. The Rheumatologist will also be responsible for trainee education at CAVHS for Rheumatology fellows and rotating medical residents in the clinics.

Work Schedule:  Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm, with some evenings and weekend call.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (*will consider non- citizen candidates*)
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
  • Certified/Board Eligible. (Preferred)
  • Experience as a Staff Rheumatologist for an academically affiliated facility. (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated interest in clinical research and teaching. (Preferred)

  • 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

  • No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting

The Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) consists of two inpatient campuses located at Little Rock and North Little Rock and eight Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCS).
