The University of Virginia (UVA) Community Health Anesthesiology Department is seeking an American Board of Anesthesiology certified or certification-eligible candidate to join our growing team in beautiful Culpeper, Virginia. Successful candidate will make a significant impact on our expanding program.

Provider will work with a highly functional surgical team, engaged executive team invested in providing high-quality care in a community-based setting, and partnership with colleagues with the Department of Anesthesiology at UVA. Ideal candidate:
- Call taking anesthesiologist who has experience with labor and delivery as well as basic general surgery and spine cases
- Experience or interest in a rural practice and enjoys living in a smaller town
- Subspecialty training is a bonus, but not required

Responsibilities:
- Administer anesthesia and anesthesia-related care
- Basic peripheral nerve blocks
- Participates in pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation
- Medical supervision of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs)
- Formulates a patient-specific plan for anesthesia care
- Implements monitors and adjusts patients physiologic condition as appropriate for type of anesthesia and specific patients needs
- Transfers the responsibility for care of the patient to other qualified providers post-operatively to assure continuity of care and patient safety
- Supports operating room procedures
- Participates in additional areas of responsibility
- Assumes responsibility for professional development of self and contributes to and assists with the professional development of others
- Call is taken mostly from home "pager call"
