Job Duties
Sign-on Bonus: Candidates are eligible for sign-on bonus Up to a $25,000 that are new to state service and remain with the facility for 2 years.
- $15,000 sign on bonus will be awarded to new hires to state service with a one-year written agreement required.
- An additional $10,000 retention bonus will be awarded to new hires who are hired after November 9th, 2023. The retention bonus will be paid out one year after hire date and require a one-year written agreement.
- Loan Repayment: Candidates are also eligible for loan repayment program! Must meet all the eligibility requirements in order to receive loan repayment*
Purpose of position
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Child Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child and adolescent psychiatry and a commitment to providing comprehensive and personalized care to our patients. As a Child Psychiatrist, you will play a vital role in diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health disorders in children and adolescents, including but not limited to ADHD, depression, anxiety, and behavioral disorders.
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations of children and adolescents to assess their mental health needs and formulate individualized treatment plans.
- Provide evidence-based psychiatric treatment, including medication management, psychotherapy, and other therapeutic interventions, to children and adolescents with mental health disorders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, social workers, and other mental health professionals, to ensure holistic and coordinated care for patients.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of patients through regular follow-up appointments and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment options, and strategies for coping and managing symptoms.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities, including conferences, workshops, and training sessions, to stay abreast of the latest advancements in child and adolescent psychiatry.

Minimum Qualifications
- License from the VA State Board of Medicine. (Employment is contingent upon receipt of license from the VA State Board of Medicine.)
- Drug Enforcement Administration license to prescribe controlled substances
- Completion of an approved residency in General Psychiatry
- Experience with diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and individual and family therapy.
- Experience in pharmacotherapy practice with emphasis on pediatric populations.
- Board certification or Board eligible in Child Psychiatry.
