Mission or Goal of Unit: To provide superior, compassionate and innovative clinical care to our patients using state of the art knowledge and resources and to conduct and disseminate clinical research and scholarship, with a focus on the care of patients and education of future clinicians.

Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition is seeking full-time Hepatologist, that is board eligible/certified in Gastroenterology and Hepatology to provide clinical services in the Hepatology clinics at VCU Health System, to include both clinics on the Medical College of Virginia Hospital campus and in Hepatology outreach locations.

Position Responsibilities: 

Clinical - Provide clinical services in the hepatology clinics at VCUHS, to include both clinics on the MCVH campus and in outreach locations; participate in the inpatient management of patients with Liver conditions, perform diagnostic endoscopic procedures.

Teaching - Provide teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows in the management of patients with Liver conditions.

Research - The faculty will engage in research and develop interdisciplinary collaborations in support of the core mission.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Hepatology
  • Experience in Hepatology research
  • Eligible for Virginia Medical Licensure
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
