UMass Memorial Medical Group seeks a dedicated and compassionate Family Medicine Hospitalist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive inpatient care to a diverse patient population, including adults and children. This position requires excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct medical care to hospitalized patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, specialists, and support staff, to ensure coordinated care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Manage patient care from admission through discharge, including conducting rounds, ordering and interpreting tests, and developing treatment plans.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR) system-EPIC
  • Provide consultative services to other physicians and healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of hospital policies and protocols.
  • Mentor and educate medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals.

Who You Are:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine.
  • Must hold or be eligible for an active medical license and DEA in Massachusetts.
  • Previous experience as a hospitalist or in a similar role is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong clinical skills, proficiency in inpatient care, and familiarity with hospital-based electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple patients effectively.
  • Available to work full-time, with a rotating schedule that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
