Trinity Health IHA Hematology Oncology is actively seeking a committed and highly skilled full-time Hematologist/Oncologist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Hematology Oncology Specialty team.
We offer comprehensive care to patients dealing with hematological and oncological conditions. This position will involve patient care coverage in both inpatient and outpatient settings within a collaborative professional environment.
As a valued member of our team, you will be part of a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary oncology service line. This includes access to a network of subspecialties such as Radiation Oncology, Neuro Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Gynecologic Oncology, Thoracic Oncology, and Colorectal Surgery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with hematological and oncological disorders across the continuum of care.
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Coordinate and facilitate seamless transitions of care for patients undergoing treatment, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other advanced therapies.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding diagnosis, prognosis, treatment options, and supportive care resources to empower informed decision-making and enhance adherence to treatment plans
- Perform comprehensive symptom assessments and provide evidence-based interventions to manage symptoms related to cancer and its treatment, ensuring optimal patient comfort and quality of life.
- Participate in clinical research activities, including protocol development, data collection, and dissemination of research findings, to advance knowledge and improve outcomes in hematology and oncology.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in physician assistant or nursing from an accredited program
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (ACNP, ONCC, AGNP credentials only) ONCC and/or ACNP preferred.
- Active licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Hematology/Oncology required
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment
