Seeking Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) for the Greater Los Angeles (GLA) VA with opportunities at the West Los Angeles VAMC, Ventura and Santa Maria clinics. The VA is mission-oriented and provides exceptional care for those who have served in our nations military.

PCP responsibilities include but are not limited to providing comprehensive care from screening for mental health concerns such as PTSD, depression, and military sexual assault trauma to substance use/abuse and diagnosing primary care needs from acute to chronic illness to gender-specific care. PCPs coordinate specialty care when needed and provide preventative care for age-appropriate cancer screenings, weight management counseling, and immunization. In addition, they analyze and synthesize data from multiple sources to establish a differential and working diagnosis.

Primary care team members include nurses, social workers, integrated mental health providers, pharmacists, and administrative support for scheduling, among others. The GLA VA Healthcare System is affiliated with the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Opportunities exist for an academic appointment at UCLA as a clinician-educator to teach medical students, internal medicine residents, and other trainees.
Previous experience in teaching is preferred for clinics that are part of academic training programs. 

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am-4:30pm | 12-15 Patients per clinical day

Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine
  • Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license from any state or US territory.
  • Must have completed residency in an accredited core specialty
  • Preferred minimum of 5 years of practice, but not required.
  • Must be Board Certified
