The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Arizona and Banner - University Medical Group Tucson is seeking a board-certified/eligible Neurosurgeon with a specialization in cranial surgery to join our esteemed and expanding clinical faculty. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team that includes neurology, nursing, neuroradiology, emergency medicine, and rehabilitation services, all committed to advancing the field of cranial neurosurgery.
This is an exceptional opportunity within a rapidly growing academic neuroscience program, both inpatient and ambulatory, with a focus on complex cranial procedures. Our 649-bed hospital, located at the University of Arizona Health Sciences in Tucson, Arizona, is renowned for its exceptional patient care, groundbreaking research, and the education of the next generation of healthcare professionals. Banner - University Medical Center Tucson is nationally recognized and certified as a Primary and Comprehensive Stroke Center and is the only Level 1 trauma center serving Southern Arizona.
Position Highlights:
The ideal candidate will be dedicated to delivering high-quality clinical care to adult patients, utilizing the most advanced surgical tools and techniques, including intra-operative, frameless image-guided systems, and minimally invasive cranial surgery equipment. The position focuses on vascular neurosurgery, encompassing a wide range of open and endovascular interventions. Daytime coverage is shared among a busy clinical and academic program with a high volume of cranial neurosurgical cases. Surgical services are provided at Banner University Medical Center Tucson, with outpatient clinical services located just minutes away. A strong commitment to teaching is essential, as our thriving neurosurgery training program offers ample opportunities for mentorship and academic growth. Depending on the candidates background, training, and interests, protected research time may also be available.
Minimum Requirements:
- ABNS certified or eligible
- Specialization in cranial neurosurgery
- Strong interest in teaching residents and openness to engaging in research
