The University of Missouri’s School of Medicine, Department of Neurology is growing. We currently are recruiting for a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Neurology inpatient services. This is an excellent career opportunity for candidates just starting their careers, as well as experienced candidates to join a thriving academic neurology department.
As a Comprehensive Stroke Center and premier referral hub for the surrounding 22 counties and beyond, we offer a rich array of challenging and exciting cases. Working alongside residents and attending physicians, we foster a team-based approach to patient care with thriving clinical and educational opportunities.
Job Details:
• Responsibilities:
o Work independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals to provide care to neurological patients in an inpatient setting.
o Communicate with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical conditions, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
o Respond quickly and accurately to changes of conditions.
o Perform treatments and interventions; conduct teaching and counseling of patients and families; and facilitate clinical research.
o Also requires basic computer skills; problem solving, willingness and ability to learn new skills and methods; ability to perform the range of duties in a variety of work settings.
