Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor in behavioral sleep medicine (BSM, 65% effort) and health psychology (35% effort) to join the Sleep Disorders Service and Research Center. This BSM portion of this position will be split between Rush University Medical Center and Rush Oak Park Hospital. The Sleep Center is fully accredited by the AASM, and trains sleep physicians in an ACGME-accredited sleep fellowship program and health psychology residents in an APA-accredited predoctoral internship program. The health psychology portion of the position will be housed in the Outpatient Health Psychology service, which includes specialists in a variety of health fields, including obesity/eating, reproductive health, and other health psychology areas and trains health and neuropsychology residents and postdoctoral fellows.
Eligible candidates should be board certified or eligible in Behavioral Sleep Medicine and possess a strong clinical background. Candidates will join the faculty of our interdisciplinary collaborative academic medical center, and supervise and teach postdoctoral fellows, residents, medical students and other trainees. Opportunities for participation in research and other academic or administrative functions may be available depending on candidates background and experience. The faculty and staff of the Sleep Disorders Service and Research Center have established a national reputation for clinical excellence, for innovation in sleep medicine research and for providing superior training to the next generation of sleep professionals. The sleep disorders team is multidisciplinary, including board-certified experts in psychology, pulmonary medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, neurology and otorhinolaryngology. The Center performs more than 3000 in-lab sleep studies and close to 2000 home sleep studies per year.
Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, knowledge and skills; relevant experience and training; education, certifications, and licensure; primary work location; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. Opportunities for increased compensation based on exceeding productivity targets. Additional compensation may include sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
