Veteran Affairs Physicians. Because you're in high demand as a VA physician, you start your career in the highest available leave tier, which provides 49 days of paid time off each year. Paid vacation, unlimited accumulated paid sick leave and 11 paid federal holidays accrue right away.

The physician will be responsible for assessment and care of new and returning patients with any number of medical problems (e.g., hypertension, diabetes, ischemic heart disease, COPD, depression, chronic pain). The care may be delivered via face-to-face, telehealth or video visits though this position may require occasional travel to VISN medical centers or Community Based Outreach Clinics (CBOC. He/she is responsible for ordering diagnostics, consultations, medications, and other therapies as medically indicated, meeting preventative health maintenance needs, completing all required VA computer documentation including clinical reminders and screenings in a timely manner. The physician assigned duty station will be one of the sites of care within VA Northern California Health Care System.

Evaluation, including performance of H&P (history and physical); diagnosis; consultation; and treatment of adult patients with medical illnesses performed in the clinic environment, via telehealth or via VA approved video modalities with appropriate support and monitoring. In addition, the provider may perform diagnostic or therapeutic joint aspiration/ injection, soft tissue injection, routine women's health (pelvic exam, breast exam, cytologic pap smear testing, cervical HPV testing), laceration repair, foreign body removal, abscess incision and drainage, diagnostic paracentesis, and wound debridement. He/she may care for patients via face-to face, telemedicine or VA approved video modalities, perform preliminary interpretation of ECG and radiographic studies, and supervise residents, fellows, and others in training.

EDRP Authorized: Up to $40,000 a year, up to 5 years.
Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
