Cleveland Clinic, one of the worlds most distinguished academic medical centers, announces a search for a Pediatric Hematology Oncology physician to join our growing team in the region allowing us to care for even more patients This position provides the opportunity to work in a highly engaging and collaborative environment with the support and resources of the Childrens Institute and Cleveland Clinics Taussig Cancer Institute  to provide the best care for our pediatric and young adult patients.

The selected candidate will join a vibrant and growing program that currently includes 18 Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologists, 2 PhDs and 10 nurse practitioners and dedicated disease-based care coordinators, providing more than 10,000 patient visits per year. Programs include full Hematology/Oncology services along with FACT accredited Blood and Marrow Transplantation. The program is part of many collaborative groups including but not limited to COG, NEXT consortium, NAPAAC, NICER consortium, Sunrise consortium, Beat Childhood Cancer consortium and Sickle Cell Disease Alliance. The department has a very well established ACGME accredited hematology oncology fellowship program.  Additionally, the department is part of the Childrens Institute and works in close collaboration with Cleveland Clinics Taussig Cancer Institute and the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. 

The candidate would join a team of 4 pediatric hematologist oncologists, 2 oncology orthopedic surgeons, 1 oncology surgeon, a nurse practitioner, and 2 care coordinators who actively treat patients with a variety of common and rare malignancies with a particularly large population of both newly diagnosed and recurrent sarcomas. These malignancies include, but are not limited to, osteosarcoma, Ewing Sarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, Desmoplastic Small Round Cell tumor, other soft tissue sarcomas, paragangliomas, and neuroblastomas. The oncology team has leadership roles and connections with various foundations and consortia and run international tumor boards focused on sarcomas. The ideal candidate would help continue to grow program participating in the care of pediatric oncology patients and providing second opinions, both virtually and in person for patients throughout the country and internationally. They will also contribute to developing new treatment options for patients through clinical trials and contribute to our knowledge and understanding of pediatric cancers through prospective and retrospective analyses and other clinical research efforts. The candidate is also expected to be committed to teaching our fellows, residents, medical students and other trainees.

The candidate should be at the Assistant, Associate or equivalent level with strong clinical and clinical research interests in pediatric oncology, with an interest in sarcomas and other solid tumors. The candidate must be board-certified in pediatric hematology/oncology. A faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments is expected at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
