- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
- Eligibility: This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), offering potential student loan repayment up to $200,000.
The Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport, LA, is seeking a dedicated Staff Psychologist to join our Mental Health Integration, Oncology, and Pain Clinics. This full-time role involves providing psychological services within an interdisciplinary team, enhancing the mental health and well-being of our nation's Veterans. Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with specialty medical team members to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.
- Maintain daily open access slots and facilitate same-day warm handoffs within the specialty medical clinic.
- Utilize Measurement-Based Care (MBC) in line with national guidelines.
- Conduct initial functional assessments focused on referral reasons, providing brief evidence-based interventions.
- Advance clinic capacity to perform suicide risk assessments and interventions within the specialty medical setting.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship. (Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.)
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Doctoral degree in psychology from an APA-accredited program.
- Completion of a professional psychology internship training program accredited by APA or CPA.
- Full, unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level.
- Preferred experience includes at least 2 years as a professional psychologist with experience working in a Mental Health setting and working with an interdisciplinary team.
