Epileptologist / Neurologist (EEG Lab Experience)

About the Role:
We are seeking a qualified neurologist specializing in epilepsy and EEG to join our dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, providing cutting-edge care for patients with epilepsy and other neurological disorders. The successful candidate will have expertise in EEG interpretation and managing complex epilepsy cases while helping to advance clinical and research initiatives in neurology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, treat, and manage patients with epilepsy and other seizure disorders.
  • Perform and interpret inpatient and outpatient EEGs.
  • Utilize video EEG monitoring to identify and treat seizures and other neurological events.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists, and nurses, to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and families regarding epilepsy management, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Participate in clinical research and trials, advancing knowledge in epilepsy treatment.
  • Supervise and mentor residents or fellows, if applicable.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with medical standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree with completion of neurology residency and fellowship in epilepsy.
  • Board certification in Neurology with specialization in Epilepsy (or board eligible).
  • Proficient in performing and interpreting EEGs, including ambulatory and video-EEG monitoring.
  • Extensive knowledge of epilepsy management, including pharmacologic treatments, surgical options, and advanced neuromodulation techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to educate patients and work well within a team.
  • Experience with epilepsy surgery referrals and post-surgical care.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize effectively.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certification or training in clinical neurophysiology.
  • Experience with advanced epilepsy treatment techniques, such as responsive neurostimulation or deep brain stimulation.
  • Research experience in epilepsy or other neurological fields.
