Physician - Optometry

The C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center in Bay Pines, Florida, is currently seeking a Supervisory Optometrist to join their Surgical Care Service team. The role involves providing comprehensive eye care to Veterans, overseeing clinic operations, and contributing to the development of optometric programs

Duties:

• Supervise optometrists, technicians, and administrative staff within the eye clinic.
• Oversee patient care services, ensuring compliance with VA policies and best practices.
• Provide comprehensive optometric exams, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans.
• Manage clinic operations, including workflow, scheduling, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with ophthalmologists, primary care providers, and other specialties to enhance patient care.
• Develop and oversee optometric training programs for residents, fellows, and students.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and ethical guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
• Active, unrestricted license to practice optometry in the U.S.
• Minimum 4 years of clinical experience in optometry.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of VA healthcare system and regulations is a plus.
