The Oklahoma City VA Healthcare System (OCVAHCS) is actively recruiting a board-certified, board-eligible full-time permanent hospital-employed Vascular Surgeon to join our Surgery department. The Vascular Surgery Chief is accountable to the Chief of Surgery. The vascular surgery physician participates in inpatient and outpatient care related to vascular surgeries at the OKC VA. Responsibilities include diagnosing and providing treatment for vascular surgery patients in outpatient clinic settings, inpatient units, Cath lab, and operative care. The Vascular Surgery Section performs a wide array of open and endovascular procedures with emphasis on complex revisional surgery, limb salvage, aortic aneurysm repair, and AV (arteriovenous) access. Provides care of the Veterans' medical needs by performing examinations, surgical consultation, and developing treatment and follow-up plans to include ongoing patient and family education throughout the course of treatment. The vascular surgeon will also be responsible for performing all Chief of Vascular Surgery duties in management of clinic staff, productivity, oversight of performance measures, patient safety initiatives, and process improvement, as well as applying national and VA guidelines to patient screening, surveillance and management. Additional Requirement: Must have completed formal training in vascular surgery and be board-eligible or board-certified in vascular surgery.
Preferred Experience: Supervising various levels of staffing in a busy outpatient clinic and inpatient care facility, performing the full spectrum of vascular surgery procedures and taking calls.
The OCVAMC is located in Oklahoma City, OK and is the “Flagship” for the Oklahoma VA Health Care System (OCVAHCS) - a Joint Commission-accredited, referral level 1b (medium complexity) facility. The surgery department serves patients across the spectrum of inpatient and outpatient care for more than 70,000 veterans in an area that includes 48 counties in Oklahoma and 2 counties in North Central Texas. The starting pay is $325,000- $400,000 per year.
