General Cardiologist is a medical professional specializing in diagnosing, treating, and preventing heart and vascular diseases. This role encompasses a broad range of cardiovascular conditions, including hypertension, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, heart failure, and valvular heart diseases. The General Cardiologist performs diagnostic tests, provides medical management, and collaborates with patients to develop personalized treatment plans aimed at improving heart health and preventing disease progression. This role may also involve educating patients and healthcare providers about heart health and wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive cardiovascular evaluations, including taking medical histories, conducting physical exams, and interpreting diagnostic tests (e.g., electrocardiograms, echocardiograms, stress tests, and lab work).
- Diagnose a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular diseases, and hypertension.
- Utilize imaging and diagnostic technologies to assess heart function and structure, including echocardiography, CT scans, and MRI.
- Monitor patients with chronic heart conditions and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure effective management and prevent complications.
- Educate patients on cardiovascular disease prevention, including lifestyle changes (e.g., healthy diet, regular exercise, weight management) and medication adherence.
Qualifications:
- MD/DO who is BC/BE in Cardiovascular Disease; Cardiovascular Disease board certification preferred.
- Fellowship trained in Cardiovascular Disease.
- Valid medical license to practice in North Dakota.
- Strong clinical skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
