CentraCare's Willmar Cancer Center is seeking an NP to join their Medical Oncology team.? 

 

Location:

Rice Memorial Hospital - Willmar, Minnesota 

Outreach: 1-4 days per month to regional site? 

 

Position Details: 

Full-time - 0.9 FTE

Weekday schedule - No nights, holidays, or weekends 

 

The Advance Practice role the Willmar Cancer Center is uniquely designed to support the Oncology patients, the Medical Oncologists, and the clinic workflow.? A few responsibilities include: 

  • Facilitating survivorship programming, including symptom management, breast surveillance and post-treatment survivorship visits.
  • Support same day add-on patients experiencing adverse effects from their treatment or disease.
  • Perform in-person and virtual visits for Cancer Center patients and regional partners in oncology care. 
  • Provide supervision to patients receiving treatment in the Infusion Center (both Oncology and non-Oncology). 
  • Support benign hematology patients through consult and follow up with referring providers. 

 

The ideal provider will have: 

  • A desire to care for patients with complex medical conditions including having serious illness conversations with patients to establish goals of care.
  • Interest in caring for patients undergoing cancer treatment, end of life/palliative care and symptom management.  
  • Ability to build relationships through strong communication skills with a multidisciplinary team.? 
  • Understanding of Evidenced Based Practice and Nursing Research.? 
  • Comfort with IV therapy

Willmar Cancer Center provides comprehensive care and an extensive range of treatment options to support cancer patients and their families.  Our established cancer program has had continuous accreditation by the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer.

The Willmar Cancer brings together medical oncology and radiation oncology services, transfusion medicine, phlebotomy, cancer data registry, the cancer clinical research program, and a full radiology department. 

Radiation Oncology has state-of-the-art linear accelerators. 

 

To be considered for our position you need to: 

  • Current licensure and certification as a Nurse Practitioner (AGNP or FNP) 
  • We would prefer that our candidate have experience in Oncology or Palliative Care/Hospice?
  • All applicants must have a current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider card and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration number prior to receiving clinical privileges. 

*New graduates will be considered with RN experience
