Position details:
- Provide oversight of the Clinical Laboratory functions for Kaiser Permanente’s Southern California Region and be responsible for the quality of the nearly 70 million laboratory tests performed yearly.
- Identify, develop, and spearhead initiatives to improve service, quality, and resource stewardship to improve the value of the LCDS.
- Functions as the physician leader of the Regional Reference Laboratories (RRL) and the Lab Care Delivery System of Kaiser Permanente, Southern California Region. Partners with the Executive Leader in achieving the mission, vision, and organizational strategy of LCDS.
- Leads and provides oversight to the Physician Directors of the Regional References Laboratories.
- Provides oversight to Clinical Genetics.
- Partners with the Medical Center Pathology Chiefs in providing oversight of Medical Center functions.
- Liaison between the LCDS and SCPMG/KP executive leadership.
- Liaison between the LCDS and the physicians and other clinicians of SCPMG and KFHP.
- Update the Regional Chiefs and other associated clinical leaders regularly on any changes in laboratory processes.
- Ensure ongoing communications with physicians at large to communicate changes in laboratory processes.
