Trinity Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Neurosurgery team. Responsibilities include pre-operative evaluation, perioperative management, post-operative follow-up, inpatient rounding, and assisting in the operating room. The role combines critical care and clinic duties to support a robust neurosurgical program. The ideal candidate will engage in the clinic and other settings using specialized knowledge, judgement and skills. Conducts clinic office visits, hospital rounds and visits, and assists the supervising physician in surgery. Works collaboratively with the supervisory physician.
Practice Details:
- Schedule includes Monday-Friday
- No call required.
- Conducts patient office visits in accordance with established scope of practice. Uses conventional techniques based on research, knowledge, and organization's standard of care to assess the patient's current condition or needs.
- Consult with supervisory physician upon identification of potential problems, serious or unusual risk factors, complications or emergencies.
- Perform patient histories, physical exams, and diagnostic test ordering.
- Conduct rounds on neurosurgical inpatients and consults.
- Document H&Ps, progress notes, discharge summaries, and consultations.
- Assist in OR (e.g., craniotomies, spinal fusions, minimally invasive procedures).
- Manage acute care needs: ICU, ED, and post-op patients.
Qualifications:
- Current ND Board NP/PA License required.
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training, with certification every two (2) years, preferred.
- ACLS certification, with certification every two (2) years, preferred.
- Education as required to obtain and keep current ND NP/PA license.
