Occupational Medicine Opportunity - XPAC
MercyOne has a full-time employment opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our Occupational Medicine team.
Under the supervision of the Medical Director, the Occupational Health Provider serves as a self-directed healthcare professional, consultant, and coordinator of care for XPAC employees. This role is responsible for promoting employee health and safety through clinical care, compliance oversight, and injury management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Health & Safety
- Assess and treat work-related injuries and illnesses.
- Manage the Workers' Compensation injury program.
- Conduct pre-employment health assessments.
- Conduct DOT exams.
- Support wellness initiatives and immunization programs.
- Administer and manage the bloodborne pathogen exposure and response plan.
- Collaborate with employers on safety and return-to-work strategies.
- Primary Care Services
- Provide evaluations for chronic and acute illnesses.
- Conduct mental health assessments.
- Perform personal injury evaluations and sports physicals.
- Compliance & Coordination
- Ensure adherence to occupational health regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with HR, safety teams, and external providers as needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records.

Qualifications
- Masters or Doctorates degree from accredited Nursing Program
- Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in Illinois & Iowa.
- Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the providers field of practice
- Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
- Ability to obtain and hold a Medical Examiners Certificate within the first 6-months of employment.
- Ability to provide a high level of clinical autonomy, as this provider will serve as the sole on-site clinician with remote support.
