We are seeking to fill a Surgical Intensivist role with a provider who is interested in shaping the future of medical professionals while delivering exceptional patient care to the nations veterans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise/educate residents and Nurse Practitioners, providing both one-on-one instruction and lectures.
- Perform necessary medical services/supervise treatment to ensure appropriate care.
- Serve as the recognized primary critical care provider for patients, maintaining physical presence for immediate diagnosis and treatment of emergencies.
- Provide indicated postoperative critical care.
- Participate in clinical and/or laboratory research, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in critical care.
- Partner with the Department of Anesthesiology - Engage in quality improvement activities, fostering innovation and evidence-based practices within the ICU.
- Collaborate with perioperative care departments including Surgery, Nursing, Pharmacy, Pathology, Logistics, and other relevant areas.
- Attend and contribute to departmental, organizational, administrative, and medical staff committee meetings.
- Develop and implement ICU policies and procedures in coordination with the Service Chief of Anesthesiology.
Work Schedule: Schedule is variable and depends upon OR needs
Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine
- Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license
- Must have completed residency in an accredited core specialty
- Must have completed or be in the process of completing SI Fellowship
- Board Certified or Board Eligible

- Salary Range: $348,000-$400,000
