Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health Family Medicine Residency is seeking our next Osteopathic Core Faculty Member.

With a robust inpatient and obstetrics service and opportunities to pursue additional training in 21 areas of concentration, our diverse program offers something for every aspiring family physician.

The ideal candidate for the Osteopathic Core Faculty member position will be a board certified or board eligible osteopathic physician with a strong background in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and high comfort level with inpatient medicine and/or obstetrics.

Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  •  Develop, present, and supervise curricula, treatment protocols, and other didactic materials. 
  • Precept residents at Downtown Family Medicine or Walter L. Aument Family Health Center. 
  • Maintain a limited continuity practice at either Walter L. Aument Family Health Center, Family and Maternity Medicine, or Downtown Family Medicine. 
  • Supervise residents on the family practice inpatient service at Lancaster General Hospital and/or obstetrics service at Women and Babies Hospital several weeks per year and no more than one weekend per month. 
  • Serve as faculty advisor, conduct formal evaluations, counsel residents, and coordinate research audits of assigned team of residents. 
  • Supervise an osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) clinic at residency clinic sites up to two half days per month 
  • Collaborate with the Director of Osteopathic Education to ensure ongoing compliance with Osteopathic Recognition requirements, including quarterly evaluation of designated osteopathic residents, biannual osteopathic faculty development sessions, and organization of an osteopathic journal club three times per year. 
  • Assist with recruitment of future osteopathic residents, which may involve attending recruitment events at local, regional and/or national conferences. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Degree.
  • Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (ACOBFP) Board Eligible are welcome to apply. 
  • Successful Completion of an Accredited Family Medicine Residency. 
  • Must be in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs.
