The role you’ll contribute:
The Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant functions as a member of the medical care management team for physician practice patients. Provides medical treatment under the supervision of the physicians for AdventHealth Medical Group. Conducts patient examinations and follow-ups, provides treatment plans, and counsels patients. May, in some cases, prescribe medication. This medical care will be provided within the framework of AdventHealth Medical Group and the hospital’s medical staff department’s policies and procedures.
- Assesses patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and identifying medical and surgical conditions.
- Examine patients, take medical histories, maintain patient records, identify health risk factors, prescribe medications, make referrals and otherwise treat health conditions.
- Assists with in-office procedures with physician and or may perform minor procedures independently.
- Interpreting test results of patients.
- Provide post-procedural follow-up care in the outpatient practice setting.
- Will diagnose and treat in collaboration with the supervising Cardiologist adult cardiovascular patients in addition to a variety of chronic health conditions including but not limited to diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia etc.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Master’s degree in physician assistant studies or MSN degree
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
- State of Florida Registered Physician Assistant License or APRN
- Valid American Heart Association BLS, ACLS certification
- Continuing education required to maintain licensure
