VHS is seeking dedicated and experienced General Medicine Physicians to provide essential Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments nationwide. This key role supports our nation's Veterans, ensuring they receive the care and evaluation they deserve. Required Skills:

• Proven experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or related fields
• Ability to conduct interview-based exams with some physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable performing non-treatment, assessment-only evaluations
• Efficient documentation and report submission skills
• Valid state medical license and certifications applicable to practice

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with compensation and pension exams
• Prior work with government or military healthcare systems
• Familiarity with medical assessment protocols
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Education and Experience:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
• Active state medical license
• At least 2 years of clinical experience, ideally with experience in assessment or evaluation roles
• Prior military or veteran healthcare experience is a plus but not required

Other Requirements:

• Own your office location within designated areas (Juneau, Sitka, Delta Junction) with travel reimbursement included
• Must be within specified radii to conduct local exams
• Availability for part-time work on a PRN basis, including half-day (4-hour) and full-day (8-hour) shifts
• Willingness to perform administrative follow-up work such as report addendums and medical opinions; these activities are included in the daily or half-day rate
• Credentialing and onboarding are streamlined for quick start
• No additional reimbursement for certifications or portal training before start

Compensation:

Hourly Rate: $624.00

Flat Half-Day Rate: $800 (4 hours or less)

Flat Daily Rate: $1,600 (5 hours or more)

Sign-On Bonus: $650 upon completion of training and first exams
