Position Summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a dedicated and skilled, board-certified/board-eligible general Pulmonologist with experience in Sleep Medicine to join our thriving outpatient practice in Linden, NJ. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality patient care in a 100% outpatient setting. This full-time position features a four-day work week (Monday - Thursday) with no inpatient responsibilities, allowing you to focus on building lasting relationships with your patients. The ideal candidate will be available to start in 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive clinical care for patients with a wide range of pulmonary diseases, including COPD, asthma, and interstitial lung disease.
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage sleep-related disorders such as sleep apnea, insomnia, and narcolepsy.
  • Conduct patient consultations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, including pulmonary function tests (PFTs) and sleep studies.
  • Develop and implement effective, evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records using our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians and other specialists to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Participate in a light, shared outpatient call schedule.

Qualifications

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO).
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonology.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Sleep Medicine is required.
  • Must hold or be eligible for an active, unrestricted medical license in the state of New Jersey.
  • Current DEA registration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

COMPENSATION:

Minimum Starting Base Salary: $260,094

Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the specialty and/or sub-specialty.

Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.
