Overview:
We seek a qualified Physician Assistant to support the pathology department at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck, North Dakota. As part of a specialized team, you'll perform gross examinations of biopsies and complex specimens, including frozen sections, with the opportunity to make a tangible impact in diagnostic accuracy. This position provides an excellent chance to utilize your skills in a supportive setting, ensuring high-quality pathology services while working in a collaborative hospital environment.

Required Skills:

• Certified Physician Assistant in good standing
• Ability to perform frozen section cases and complex surgical resections
• Proficiency in gross examination of biopsies and complex specimens
• Experience with EMR systems, specifically Epic and SoftPath
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to procedural protocols
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced hospital setting

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with medical renal and muscle biopsies
• Familiarity with histology techniques and staining procedures
• Previous experience working in a hospital pathology lab

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Physician Assistant certification with current licensure
• Prior experience in surgical pathology or hospital laboratory settings
• Demonstrated competency in frozen section procedures and complex specimen processing

Other Requirements:

• Ability to work from February through April 2025
• No credentialing required; emergency credentialing not necessary
• Travel and lodging arrangements as per candidate preference
• Compensation includes rates for orientation, holiday work, and callback shifts; hourly pay rate is available upon application
